In the center of the engraving is the sheet that the pope would give to pilgrims with an Agnus Dei (a wax medallion imprinted with the Lamb of God) upon coming to one of the basilicas that grants indulgence during a Jubilee year. The sheet in this engraving bears the coat of arms of Pope Alexander VII and the image of the Agnus Dei, surrounded by the Latin motto “Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis” (“Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy on us”).
